BTC Registration Email From Kris Breen, Interim Director Feb 2020

From Interim Director Kris Breen 2/6/2020

Hello Victor, Karyn, Joan, and Laura,

Thank you so much for meeting yesterday, and Victor for pulling us together for this discussion.

I'm writing to summarize our discussion and add next steps:

The BTC Application is part of our yearly admissions process, students are applying from 9-10 (sometimes more) sending high schools in Chittenden and Franklin counties. When students have completed the admissions process and are enrolling in BTC, we will send an instruction letter to all guidance counselors and parents/caregivers telling them that registration is required and we will outline the steps. We have a rolling admissions process through summer, and we will continue to notify as students are accepted.

*BTC will need to work with unregistered current students on an upcoming day this year (2019-20) to ensure the registrations are completed. We will set up a room with computers and adults to assist, and call programs in one at a time to get this completed. We will create an instructions sheet.

*BTC will need to work with unregistered students on the first days of class (2020-21) to ensure the registrations are completed. Please give us 2-3 days at the beginning of the school year. We will set up a room with computers and adults to assist, and call programs in one at a time to get this completed. We will create an instructions sheet.

The Annual Family Update happens around September 1st and only BTC continuing second year students will be required to complete this update. First year students will not be required to complete the Annual Update.

*BTC will need to work with students for 2-3 days around the due date (when you notify us what that date is) to ensure the Annual Updates are completed. We will set up a room with computers and adults to assist, and call programs in one at a time to get this completed.

Please let us know if we need further instructions or information on any of the pieces above - before we begin.

Thank you all,
Kris
