Students under Evaluation - This is for students whom we receive a Special Ed referral for and need to have a Special Education Evaluation. This process can take up to 60 days.
If a child meets eligibility guidelines they would then be on an Individual Education Plan (IEP). If the student is not eligible they should be exited from EEC.
Entry Code = 111111 Under Evaluation
Students under 3 Years Old - These are children coming into our program who have been receiving services from Children’s Integrated Services/Early Intervention (CIS/EI).
They may or may not continue to need services and the school district determines “Potential Eligibility.”
If not eligible, they may still enroll in the program as a general education student in one of our classrooms or in a CPP.
We need them in the system (Goal View) so we can hold meetings within the time frame of transition which is within the 6 month window before their 3rd birthday to determine eligibility.
Students receiving services less than 10 hours per week- This is for students who are eligible for Special Education services but do not want to enroll in a preschool classroom.
Parents may choose to bring them in for 1:1 Clinic services. These services tend to be 1-3 hours a week, well under 10 hours.
Gloria will supply codes for students in EEC receiving services under 10 hours
Also a code for under 3 - this exists
Also a code for under eval.
Ashley will fill out the transfer form and keep these updated - regular checks.
Part time hours field is filled in for these EEC under 10 hour students - default is 3 hours.
EEC-
In the past, had decided to hold the place of 3+ students who are either getting evaluated, under 3, OR under 10 hours a week
Kids who are 10 hours a week get reported in ADM as .46
Under 10 hours not reported in ADM
PreK Entry Code - made for kids under 3. If this is used we are not limited by age in EEC. But it’s won’t work without this entry code.
Who should be doing what in the EEC process?
Questions
-Do the students who are over 3 and receiving services have to be counted? If under 10 hours a week?
GJO: Students under three are never counted. That’s why I need them in a group so I can exclude them.
-Students who are attending a CPP over 10 hours a week?
Student needs to be evaluated coming into the district?
Are they over 3?
They should be transferred or added to EEC to be evaluated (100 a year)
Powerschool box of IEP needs to be checked.
If they have an IEP (and box is checked), grade level needs to be EEE.
