To print mailing labels in PowerSchool, the first step is always going to be to select the students. This can be done using the Start page or you can use a report to select the students by running the report and then clicking the Make Current Selection button. There is a Group Function for printing mailing labels and that is what we will use.
From the Start page, you should see the students you selected.
1. Click on the Group Functions drop down in the lower right. Then select Print Mailing Labels.
You will then see a dropdown for the Mailing Label Layout. There are several layouts. The Avery 5160 label is the most common label.
2. Select Avery 5160 Address: Parent name Re: Student name. It will look like this:
Gloria Ormsby
Re: Tyler Ormsby
Contact Street
Contact City, Contact State, Contact Zip

Note: The first format is the only one that has the contact's address. The rest have the student address. These can, in some situations be different.

The logic for pulling the contact data for the this label is:
If there is a mother relationship type, it pulls that,
If there is no mother but there is a father, it pulls that,
If there is no mother or father on the student account, the first line will be blank. When you see this you should go to the student record and either add the relationship type for an existing contact that you know is the mother or father or create a new contact that is either mother or father.
3. Select the Sorting option per your preference.
4. Click Submit.
The report queue displays as the system processes the request. Click Refresh a couple of times until it says Completed.
5. Now click on View. A new window will open showing the labels. Print this out on the Avery label sheets. That's it!

Note: It is wise to print one page on plain paper, then hold that up to the light behind the label page to make sure everything lines up. Then print on the label paper.
