Live-Side Scheduling Checklist


The live-side scheduling process in PowerSchool creates both the master schedule and enrolls students into classes to create student schedules. The master schedule includes sections, teachers, rooms, facilities, departments, etc. 

The live-side scheduling option is appropriate for schools with a master schedule that is consistent from year to year and a small number of classes/students that enables efficient manual scheduling. This option is often used by middle and elementary schools.

Years & Terms for the next school year and copying the Master Schedule copied is done by the Data Team. In addition the school calendar must be created. Enrolling students is done after the rollover/End of year process is done which is usually early to mid July.

Before the Years and Terms are created, please note the following:
  1. Verify term dates to avoid making changes after terms are created. Changing term dates after the schedule is active is not recommended.
  2. Verify term structure to avoid deleting terms. Deleting terms after the schedule is active is not recommended.
  3. Terms dates should not overlap.
