Procedure to Alter or Add an Ecollect Form
When changing text, elements, or placement an existing form, please follow this procedure. It is important to retain existing response data, and so to do so, this is the procedure to follow.
- Export a copy of existing form for backup purposes.
- Open the existing form.
- Make the changes.
- If you are doing anything but a text change, test the new functionality. If you are adding a new form, remember to change the Next Form for both the previous form and the new form.
- Proof the form for typos.
- Save the form. Go to a student's record and verify the new changes are in the form.
- If the change is different by grade level or school, check the form using a test account for each grade level.

Important
If you are removing an existing element and replacing it with a new element, keep the old element on the form and make it visible to only admin. This will keep it hidden from parents. This is important to maintain the data associated with the previous element.
