School Messenger Broadcast Types Indicate Phone/Email to be Contacted
Broadcast types determine which
phone numbers and/or emails will be used for each broadcast. It is important that you do not change this information unless you are absolutely sure you know what you are doing.
We have the following broadcast types:
Non-School Hours Emergency Broadcast Type
Phones/Emails/Texts Sent:
- Parent/Guardian 1 Primary Phone
- Parent/Guardian 1 Phone 2
- Parent/Guardian 1 Phone 3
- Parent/Guardian 2 Primary Phone
- Parent/Guardian 2 Phone 2
- Parent/Guardian 2 Phone 3
- Student Cell Phone (From Addresses and Names screen)
- Parent/Guardian 1 Email
- Parent/Guardian 2 Email

with. You have to look in School Messenger under Contacts to get that
information.
School Hours Emergency Broadcast Type

Annual Student Update Reminders Broadcast Type
Phones Only:
- Parent/Guardian 1 Primary Phone
- Parent/Guardian 2 Primary Phone
This shows the way the student and parent record in School Messenger shows what phone numbers and emails will be used for each broadcast type. You can see three sections; Phone, Email and SMS (text) Across the top of each section are the Broadcast Types. Please note Prone 11 is the student cell phone.
Note: You can click the Edit button, then click Override. That will allow you to change the phone number or email that is specified for any broadcast type. When the Override box is checked, the data will not be overwritten by PowerSchool.
