Negative Attendance on Attendance Report

Attendance reports, such as ADA/ADM by Student, may display negative attendance. Negative attendance numbers are often caused by incorrect entry dates. For example, the school year may begin on 09/01/2008, as defined under School > Years & Terms. If the entry date on the Transfer Info page for the student is 08/30/2008, then negative attendance may display on the report. The entry date should be either the same day as the first day of school, or later, based on when the student became a member of the school. The same concept is true for the exit date; both the entry and exit date should be a date on or within the dates set in the Years & Terms.

 

Note: If you are using PowerSchool Premier, after making any changes that affect attendance, navigate to Special Functions > Attendance Functions > Refresh Premier Attendance Views Data and run the report for the appropriate students and date range before re-running your attendance report.
